Woof Playcare Dog Resort Boarding Requirements
Meet & Greet Requirement
Because we offer a cage-free environment, it’s essential to ensure your dog is a good fit and gets along well with others. Before your first boarding stay, we ask that you schedule a meet and greet. When you come in, bring your dog’s vaccination records and plan to leave your pup with us for at least four hours so we can get to know them.
Spay/Neuter Policy
All dogs must be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.
Vaccination Requirements
All dogs must be current on the following vaccinations:
• Bordetella (kennel cough)
• Distemper
• Rabies
While not required, we strongly recommend the Canine Influenza (Dog Flu) vaccine.
Breed Restrictions
We love all dogs, but due to safety concerns in a group setting, we are unable to accommodate the following breeds:
• Full-breed Pit Bulls
• Dogos Argentinos
• Akitas
• Wolf hybrids
These breeds can be overly strong and may not respond appropriately in group interactions. For these breeds, we highly recommend The Dog Spot Hotel in North Melbourne – it’s a fantastic facility.
Grace Periods
• If your dog was spayed or neutered after the age of 2, we ask for a one-month grace period before joining daycare or boarding.
• For recently adopted shelter dogs, we may request a short waiting period to ensure they are healthy and adjusting well to their new home. Please call us to discuss your specific situation so we can plan a safe and positive introduction.
Age Guidelines
• Puppies must have completed their full series of puppy vaccinations, including rabies, before joining us.
• We suggest small and toy breeds wait until at least 5 months old to start daycare. If there are special circumstances, we’re happy to talk them through with you.
• For senior dogs over 14 or those with special needs, we require a personalized meet and greet to assess their comfort and care requirements.
Feeding Instructions
• Daycare: You don’t need to bring food unless your dog has specific dietary or medical needs or is 6 months or younger.
• Boarding: Please bring your dog’s own food to maintain consistency in their diet. Please bring whatever you feed them at home, we can do some extra preparation if needed. Pre-bagging meals by morning and evening feeding times is greatly appreciated—it helps us ensure smooth, accurate feedings for everyone!
Medication Guidelines
Please do not mix medications into food. Medications should be brought in their original containers whenever possible. If that’s not an option, we’ll need the medication name and exact dosage. We’ll gather detailed instructions at drop-off.
If your dog has “as-needed” medications (e.g., for sensitive stomachs), please include those. Be sure to let us know about any ongoing health conditions like food allergies, limping, seizures, or pancreatitis.
What to Bring (and What Not To)
We provide everything your pup needs: cozy blankets, toys, and bowls. No need to bring collars or other accessories.
