Our Requirements

We’re excited to welcome you and your pup to the Woof Play Care family! Our goal is to make every dog’s stay safe, fun, and stress-free. Here are a few things to know before your first visit.

Meet & Greet

• Because we’re a cage-free facility, it’s important that every dog is comfortable around other dogs and enjoys our play environment. Before your first boarding stay, we’ll schedule a meet and greet.
• Please bring your dog’s vaccination records and plan to leave them with us for at least four hours. This gives our team time to get to know your pup, learn their personality, and make sure they’ll be happy and comfortable with our Woof Pack.

Spay & Neuter Policy

For the safety and comfort of all our guests, dogs must be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.

Vaccination Requirements

To help keep everyone healthy, all dogs must be current on:

• Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
• Distemper
• Rabies

Breed Policy

We truly love dogs of every shape and size. However, because safety is our highest priority in a group play environment, we’re unable to accommodate:

• Full-breed Pit Bulls
• Dogo Argentinos
• Akitas
• Wolf hybrids

For these breeds, we highly recommend The Dog Spot Hotel in North Melbourne. They have a wonderful facility and do a fantastic job.

Grace Periods

To help ensure every dog has the best possible experience, we ask for a little adjustment time in these situations:

• Dogs spayed or neutered after 2 years of age should wait one month before joining daycare or boarding.
• Newly adopted shelter dogs should have at least one month to settle into their new home before visiting us.
• If your situation is unique, just give us a call—we’re always happy to help.

Age Guidelines

• Puppies must have completed their first puppy vaccination series
• We recommend that small and toy breeds wait until they’re about 5 months old before starting daycare. If you have special circumstances, we’d love to talk with you.
• Senior dogs over 14 years old, or dogs with special needs, will have a personalized meet and greet so we can make sure we’re the perfect fit for their care.

Feeding

• Daycare Guests: There’s no need to bring food unless your dog is under 6 months old or has special dietary or medical needs.
• Boarding Guests: Please bring the food your dog normally eats at home to help keep their routine consistent. If they enjoy wet food, toppers, or special meal preparations, feel free to send those along too.
• Pre-portioning meals into labeled morning and evening servings is greatly appreciated—it helps us provide smooth, accurate feedings for every guest.

Medications

• Please don’t mix medications into your dog’s food.
• Whenever possible, bring medications in their original containers. If that’s not possible, simply provide the medication name, dosage, and instructions. We’ll review everything with you at check-in.
• If your dog has any “as-needed” medications or ongoing health conditions—such as food allergies, seizures, pancreatitis, or mobility issues—please let us know so we can provide the best possible care.

What else to Bring

Travel light—we’ve got it covered! We provide comfortable bedding, cozy blankets, toys, bowls, and just about everything else your pup will need during their stay.
